This course introduces key MEL systems, processes, methods and tools. Using a case study, participants will gain hands on experience in designing a MEL plan. Participants will also have the opportunity to share experiences, challenges and lessons of doing MEL with peers, and can bring along their own case study for peer review.
Many policies and programs are implemented in large systems, or expect to make changes at multiple levels of a system. Many approaches to program theory either assume that the program itself is simple, or ignore the implications of context for whether and how programs work. This two-day workshop will introduce participants to various approaches to ‘systems’, ‘complexity’ and ‘context’, and skills and strategies for working with complex systems.
The Systems in Evaluation (Un)Conference is a loosely structured conference that emphasises the informal, emergent exchange of ideas between participants, rather than following a conventionally structured program of speakers and presenters. The event on June 21st offers participants the chance to learn and share with colleagues in an informal virtual environment. Participants can build their knowledge and skills in systems evaluation without ever leaving the office.

- Engaging with multiple-perspectives
- Reflecting on boundary choices
