Toonlet

This web-based application makes it possible to draw cartoons, by creating characters and then placing them into the panels of a cartoon with appropriate text.

toonlet.com closed down in Aug 2015. The links on this page are archived links. If you would like to make a comic strip, you could use other tools: canva, pixton and make beliefs comix.

Users are able to register at the site and then build up a character using the various options for body parts, clothing and accessories, and facial expressions. Then it is possible to create a cartoon in a series of panels, adding text as needed.

It is important to be alert to cultural sensitivities when using this tool, especially when it is intended to be humorous.

High resolution versions of the cartoons can be downloaded for printing purposes.

Full tutorials are available plus a series of tips focusing on particular issues.
