In a context where development organizations, NGOs, academic institutions, and civil society actors are accumulating rich and diverse experiences, experience capitalization and "monitoring and evaluation (M&E) have emerged as two strategic pillars of organizational learning. Complementary yet often confused, these two approaches deserve to be better understood and integrated to strengthen the effectiveness and accountability of programs.
The Center for Learning on Evaluation and Results for Francophone Africa (CLEAR-FA), a regional center dedicated to capacity building in M&E, and the Geneva Federation for Cooperation and Development (FGC), a Swiss organization specializing in development cooperation and knowledge sharing, are combining their complementary expertise to offer this webinar. The objective is to provide Francophone development and civil society professionals with a space for reflection, exchange, and practical tools at the intersection of these two fields of activity.
This webinar draws in particular on the practical guide to knowledge capitalization tools developed by the FGC, on CLEAR FA’s expertise in M&E, as well as on concrete testimonials from organizations that have implemented such approaches. It will also feature insights from the Mastercard Foundation, whose experience with large-scale monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) systems in West Africa will enrich discussions on the relationship between knowledge capture and M&E in multi-country contexts.
