The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) field is continuously advancing and it’s imperative to keep up with the movement. We’ve got just the tools and skills to help you do that and improve your career prospects.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Practitioner – “MEL Practitioner” training course equips training participants with the skills and tools necessary to execute the functions and activities often required by the job description of a MEL officer. The course offers a modular training journey distributed over four phases including how to Design your project, Measure and monitor performance, Learn to adapt and evaluate to improve future programing.
This course has been designed to include what matters, filtering out a lot of the noise around M&E. You will benefit from engaging and interactive sessions that are engineered for active participation with your trainer and classmates.
Enjoy our VIRTUAL classes from the comfort of your own environment. We meet over 8 sessions across 4 weeks. Each session is 90 minutes led by an expert MEL practitioner and trainer.
Learning outcomes
- Develop a results-based logical framework for development projects.
- Explain the differences between the various levels of results: outputs outcomes and impact.
- Develop smart quantitative and qualitative Key Performance Indicators to measure project’s progress meaningfully accurately and adequately.
- Design the project's MEL Plan and articulate its key sections.
- Learn the latest DAC evaluation criteria and its relationship with the results framework.
- How to use learnings to improve project’s performance in one hand and to enhance organizational growth and sustainability on the other hand.
Who should attend?
This course is a foundation to intermediate level. It is designed for development practitioners working in local and international NGOs, government agencies, donor-funded development projects, social enterprises, philanthropic organizations, and development consulting firms, among others. The targeted audience includes:
- Monitoring. evaluation and learning officers.
- Development Project officers/coordinators
- Development programs managers
- Project field officers
- Grants management specialists
- Resources mobilization fundraising, and communication specialists.
Delivery format
- Eight interactive online sessions facilitated by our highly experienced consultant. Each live session lasts 90 minutes.
- The course focuses on a mixture of Theory and practice individually and in small group discussions.
- Presentations materials and training instructions are in English.
- Our trainers are bilingual in English and Arabic
- On average we estimate participants should set aside 4-6 hours per week to complete this course.
Course certificate
You will get your certificate by either one of the following conditions:
- Attend at least 65% of the live sessions.
- Passing the final test with at least a grade of 56%. The final online test consists of 23 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in 35 minutes.
