I found this resource helpful in providing clear definitions and key characteristics of dashboards and other data display tools, something that can be oddly hard to find! I have incorporated much of this content in training I provide to for-purpose organisations in monitoring and evaluation. ​

It's a concise and clear introductory explanation of data dashboards and other ways of displaying data.
