Managing challenging interviews

This one-day course will explore the key issues in planning for and conducting qualitative interviews with vulnerable populations. The course will cover:

  • defining vulnerability and risk
  • assessing risk
  • ethical issues
  • managing risks for participants
  • managing risks for researchers
  • controlling the interview dynamic

This is an advanced course and will assume an understanding of the principles of conducting qualitative research interviews. If you are new to qualitative interviewing, we recommend that, as a minimum requirement, you do our course Depth Interviewing Skills before registering for this advanced module.
