Join CEP and Fund for Shared Insight for an in-depth webinar discussing the work of the Nord Family Foundation in Amherst, OH, one of the funders featured in the new CEP publication, Staying Connected: How Five Foundations Understand Those They Seek to Help.
Recent Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP) research finds that foundation leaders believe learning from the experiences of their beneficiaries — those they are ultimately trying to help — holds a great deal of promise for increasing foundation impact in the coming decades. But our research also shows that both funders and grantees alike don’t always see this learning happening.
CEP’s Jennifer Glickman will provide background on CEP’s work on this topic, before turning it over to Shared Insight’s Melinda Tuan to moderate a discussion between Nord’s Program Officer, Tony Richardson, Victor Leandry of El Centro (one of Nord’s grantees), and Edna Ortiz, a beneficiary of El Centro’s programs. Attendees can expect to come away with a clearer picture of what it takes for a funder to effectively build understanding of their beneficiaries, as well as practices they can apply to their work at their own organizations.
