In 2015, the Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF) launched an initiative to investigate new approaches and efforts to address the significant challenges in gender-based violence (GBV) programming in emergencies. HIF will be inviting teams with promising and innovative ideas to a two-day workshop in London on 29-30 November 2016. Following the workshop, teams will be invited to apply for grant funding of up to £50,000 to further explore and/or prototype their ideas within one year.
HIF recognises the complexity of GBV in humanitarian contexts and that it defies easy solutions. But by approaching problems from the perspective of innovation they hope to stimulate tangible solutions.
Drawing on this work, they are now launching a call for innovators to improve monitoring and evaluation of GBV interventions in humanitarian contexts.
Prospective applicants can apply to address one of two related challenges: measuring the impact of GBV programmes, and real-time monitoring tools.
Full information is available on the HIF website.
