Introducing the next phase of BetterEvaluation

To our valued users, members and friends,

We invite you to take a moment to read this message from the BetterEvaluation team:

Our world is changing rapidly. We are living through a time of uncertainty, increasing needs and scarce resources.

Doing evaluation well has always been important, but right now it is critical: to ensure the decisions that affect our lives are based on good data that is used well.  We can’t afford to waste time and money on bad evaluation, and we can’t afford decisions that are based on no evidence or poor-quality evidence.

Which is why the BetterEvaluation community has been working in a global collaboration for the past 12 years to create, share and support the use of knowledge about evaluation in all its forms.

Our knowledge platform at betterevaluation.org is the go-to place for information on evaluation methods, processes and approaches. We have credible, accessible and free information on more than 300 different evaluation options plus downloadable resources for evaluators and people who manage and use evaluation.

Thanks to our financial supporters, we have refreshed our home page to make it easier for everyone to find the information they need.

We are expanding our efforts to document and share good examples of evaluation that is practical and useful in times of rapid change and uncertainty.

And we are excited to announce that after 12 years of being run as a project at RMIT University and The Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG), BetterEvaluation has been established as an independent, not-for-profit organisation and registered charity.

In this next stage we are ramping up our work on the knowledge platform and capacity strengthening support to make a bigger and more sustainable contribution to improving evaluation.

We invite you to join in our efforts to improve evaluation for a better world.

Please check out our new home page and let us know what you think.

If you’re not a registered member of our community, Join Us. You’ll be able to connect with others seeking to improve evaluation practice. If you have a recommendation for a resource to add, or some insights or questions from your practice you'd like to share, please be in touch to contribute content.

You can also get to know our organisation, who we are and how we work on our About Us page.

Thank you for supporting us to reach this milestone! Please stay safe and take care.

Together we can create a world of better evaluation, better decisions, and better results for people and the planet.

A special thanks to this page's contributors
