The M.A. in Research and Evaluation Methods program at Boston College is designed to equip you with the robust background in methodology, research design, and data analysis you’ll need to help meet that demand. This training will allow you the flexibility to work in a variety of research and evaluation fields. Positive Developmental Psychology and Evaluation provides you with knowledge and methods needed for research and to design, implement, and evaluate programs aimed at fostering positive human development throughout the lifespan. Positive psychology is understood as an approach to human functioning that addresses human flourishing and well-being and the factors that contribute to them. At Claremont Graduate University, Positive Development is understood as individual growth through the lifespan.

In this program, you’ll learn to improve organizational effectiveness and individual work life through positive organizational psychology research, integrating that scholarship with a background in evaluation and applied research methods, all within one of the preeminent evaluation programs in the country. The Master of Arts in Public Policy & Evaluation trains you in the technical aspects of outcome evaluation to provide a focused understanding of what makes public policy effective. This is a joint program offered by the Division of Politics & Economics and the Division of Behavioral & Organizational Sciences that combines two highly complementary domains—public policy and evaluation—which are often taught and learned separately. The program places strong emphasis on the politics of outcome evaluation; you’ll develop an understanding of stakeholder and constituent roles in evaluation, empowerment aspects, and the ethical requirements of a policy analyst and evaluator.

This program is designed to produce highly qualified health care researchers who incorporate skills from and collaborate among a wide-range of disciplines. Equipped with the skills to analyze and interpret complex health problems and data, graduates are prepared to conduct relevant research on issues critically important to public health. The curriculum combines a strong conceptual framework that fosters a thorough understanding of health and contemporary technical issues in healthcare delivery/population health with a rigorous methodological core providing practical experience to improve health systems’ performance and population health.
