The primary objective of this program is to equip learners from a variety of sectors with the knowledge and skills to successfully plan, implement and manage monitoring and evaluation systems from initiation to close-out.
The hands-on program presents practical steps, examples, and exercises in applying M&E concepts and tools. Participants will work in groups to apply these concepts in an integrated manner, enabling them to plan, monitor, and evaluate their interventions, be accountable, and improve performance.

The program provides both qualitative and quantitative methods and techniques to assess public policies and programs, aiming to make informed recommendations on their design, implementation, performance, and impact. It trains students to lead evaluation projects, using established methodologies or creating their own, to identify areas for improvement in national and subnational programs.

This program prepares students for the proper use and application of advanced statistics and evaluation procedures, specifically applied in the social and behavioral disciplines of education, psychology, counseling and other related fields. This graduate certificate is designed for students who hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree and seek to gain a critical understanding of key educational program evaluation techniques, including qualitative inquiry. This course trains professionals to lead multidisciplinary teams by providing knowledge that enables them to bring together various areas of expertise to develop new evaluation methods for public policies. The program's innovative approach involves an interdisciplinary perspective where various fields of knowledge, such as Social Sciences, Economics, Architecture and Urbanism, Geography, Education, Health, Natural and Agricultural Sciences, work together to achieve a common goal of evaluating public policies effectively. The research at the program focuses on three main areas: Public Policies and Social Changes, Design of Social Public Policies, and Public Policies, Territory, and Culture.

This interdisciplinary program aims to train researchers in the field of public policy evaluation, providing them with theoretical and methodological bases. The program is part of the “Public Field”, an expression used by professors, researchers, students and directors of undergraduate courses at Brazilian universities, to affirm the autonomy of the field in relation to that of Business Administration.
