Decolonising National Evaluation Systems in Africa (Webinar)

Available languages

This webinar by the Global Evaluation Initiative (GEI) and the Center for Learning on Evaluation and Results for Francophone Africa (CLEAR-FA) explored how can Africa effectively decolonise its national evaluation systems to meet the needs and aspirations of its people.

Historically, national evaluation systems in Africa have been shaped by methodologies rooted in colonial frameworks that often fail to reflect local realities. Decolonising evaluation systems is essential for creating frameworks that truly resonate with Africa’s unique context, culture, and values.

In this webinar, the speakers explore the experiences of South Africa and Benin in decolonising their evaluation systems, examine the challenges they faced, and discuss strategies for overcoming these challenges.
