The Evaluator’s Cookbook aims to bring together a range of participatory approaches, methods and exercises used with children and young people.
The resource is divided into three main sections: Starters, Main Courses, and Puddings, and concludes with a series of exercises that offer creative ways to present data to participants and wider audiences.
- Starters include "short ‘warm-up’ exercises which can be used to generate initial evaluation ideas and issues as well as setting a framework for actually evaluating individual sessions with participants."
- Main courses are more substantial. These exercises "aim to provide children and young people with opportunities to creatively explore the issues in their lives and generate evaluation information."
- Puddings "are again shorter exercises to ‘round off’ and evaluate sessions with participants."
