MyHistro is an online platform to create and share web-based platforms. It integrates time and geo-data, so that you can show both when and where key events that occurred.

This resource and the following information was contributed to BetterEvaluation by Alice Macfarlan (BetterEvaluation and ANZSOG).

Key features

  • Free
  • Integration of images, time-oriented data and location data.
  • Online platform for creation and viewing
  • Timelines can be embedded in websites

How have you used or intend on using this resource?

I haven't used this resource yet, however I can see it would be a useful tool to show the development of an event or conflict.

Why would you recommend it to other people?

It seems like an easy way to tell the narrative of a complicated event, in a manner which will be more easily digestible to audiences. I like the way the interface integrates the timeline visual with the map data, which is shown as both a large, close up of Google maps and a smaller, zoomed out version of the map.
