Line ministries and departments are specific governmental departments or ministries that focus on particular sectors or areas, such as health, education, or transportation.
Depending on the sector and the country's priorities, these ministries might drive M&E in their respective sectors in some contexts. Alternatively, they might collaborate more closely with central agencies or other bodies, ensuring their sector-specific strategies align with national M&E goals.
Some line departments will develop an organisational evaluation policy, an organisational evaluation plan and organisational guidance.
