How have you used or intend on using this resource?
I've used this tool to quickly turn survey responses to individual questions into data cards, which were then used in a group data analysis session with our team (or a 'data party'). To do this activity, I made a set of one-sided flashcards by organising my material into one column in excel and importing this to the Quizlet flashcard making software. This then generated my 'flashcards', which I was able to export to PDF, print, and then cut into individual cards.
In our data party, we then worked together to sort these paper cards into thematic areas, attaching them to labelled posters on the wall with blue tack.
An alternative way of doing this might be to use the second side of the data cards to give some information about the respondent (e.g. 'client' or 'staff member'), if this information was going to be relevant to the data analysis activity.
Why would you recommend it to other people?
As a method for data analysis, using data cards was useful for our team as we were able to discuss and review themes that emerged from our data together.
I came across Quizlet while trying to find a quick and easy way to resize different amounts of text (with responses ranging from a few words to lengthy paragraphs) to fit a standard-sized textbox so that the data could be printed in the most readable way. Flashcard software turned out to be ideal for this, and while I found Quizlet easy to use I'm sure a number of flashcard software programs would also work.
