This tool from StatSilk allows the user to create interactive maps which are fully customisable.

In addition to maps, the software also has the option of including interactive graphs and charts to create feature-rich infographics. World and US maps are included in the software and other maps a free to download from the website. A paid version of this software is available which includes additional maps, support for large data sets (StatPlanet has a limit of 5 indicators), importing maps and export options.
